Writing Resources] COWL is a group of enthusiastic faculty administrators and faculty and peer tutors who work hard to help students fine tune their writing skills. COWL was conceived when a small group of dedicated faculty members came together with the goal of improving student writing through the use of technology. After much discussion, these faculty integrated into their writing team a new and unusual creature know as the Internet; thus, COWL was born. Through a generous grant from the Appalachian College Association, COWL took its first steps in the fall of 1997. During that first year COWL grew by leaps and bounds. Since then COWL has undergone yearly revisions. Its primary purpose - serving students and faculty with writing - remains the same. Our COWL director, Mickey Pellillo, even won an international award for the innovative use of technology in education. Our administrators are:
